1. What is OBD-II and does my vehicle have this?
   On Board Diagnostics (OBD)-II is the most recent set of automotive standards and has been in effect in the U.S. since January 1, 1996. This set of standards enables a vehicle to provide self-diagnostic and reporting capabilities. Vehicle data is passed to the Pioneer device via the vehicle’s On-Board Diagnostics (OBD) connector. 2. Will rDrive work with my electric or hybrid vehicle?
   Electric and hybrid vehicles are not excluded but it depends on vehicle year, make and model. Visit www.rdrivebypioneer.com/support for more information.
3. Is there a smartphone app?
   Yes. In order to experience rDrive, you will need to download the official Pioneer rDrive app, which is compatible with iPhone and Android devices and is available for download from the App Store and Google Play. The rDrive app is designed for mobile phone use. Some views may not be optimized for viewing on other devices such as Android tablets or iPad.
4. Does it come with a free trial period?
   No. Currently rDrive does not provide a free trial period.
5. Can I use rDrive in other countries?
   Pioneer rDrive will not work outside of the U.S.
6. Can I transfer my Pioneer device to a different vehicle?
   Yes, as long as it’s for the same rDrive account. Within the rDrive app you can add a vehicle by clicking on the settings bar in the upper-left hand corner, going to Car Settings > Add Car, and then plugging the device into the other vehicle. rDrive will automatically detect your new vehicle’s details and add this vehicle to your account. Please note that you can only use rDrive with one vehicle per device. The rDrive device must be plugged into the vehicle that you are using. Pioneer recommends a hard installation of the unit by an authorized rDrive dealer.
7. How many secondary users can monitor the vehicle with the device in it?
   The administrator of the rDrive account can set up as many additional users as required for that specific account. Additional users will be able to monitor the vehicle through the rDrive app. To add an additional user, click on the settings bar in the upper-left hand corner, go to People → Add Person, and enter the requested user information.
8. If my vehicle is stolen, how are the police notified?
   If your vehicle is stolen, call 9-1-1 and file a report with the police. Once you have received a case number, please call (1-800-7LOJACK) and provide LoJack with the case number and reporting officer, and LoJack will contact them directly to assist with recovering your vehicle.
9. Will I know if the Pioneer device has been unplugged or disconnected?
   Yes. You will receive a push notification to your phone stating that the device has been disconnected. While your device is disconnected, you will be unable to use the rDrive app and features.
10. Will emergency services be notified if I get into an accident?
    If the Pioneer device detects an accident or crash event, the LoJack Command Center will attempt to notify your registered emergency contact and make up to three attempts to contact you at your registered phone number. If you answer the call, LoJack will ask you if you require assistance. If you decline, LoJack will end the call. If you request assistance or you do not answer the call after three attempts, LoJack will contact emergency services to request dispatch your vehicle’s location.
11. Will I be able to see the driving history of the vehicle?
    Yes. In the rDrive app, click on your vehicle’s icon to pull up additional vehicle information. You can view the vehicle’s driving history in the Trip History tab, which maintains a log of the driving history and includes detailed route information.
12. Is roadside assistance included?
    Currently we do not offer roadside assistance with the rDrive service.
13. Will rDrive start my vehicle remotely?
    No. This is not a remote start device.
14. Will rDrive unlock my doors?
    rDrive does not support this feature.
15. How do I install the Pioneer device?
    The authorized Pioneer rDrive dealer from which you purchased the device can provide installation services for best performance and will activate the unit. Please check with the dealer as to its installation charge.
16. Do I need to have the Pioneer device professionally installed? Can’t I just plug the Pioneer device into the OBD-II port myself?
    Pioneer does not recommend installation using ONLY the vehicle’s OBD-II port. The vibration that occurs while driving may loosen or dislodge the device, resulting in a lost connection or false crash notifications. To improve data accuracy and provide the most stable and secure connection, Pioneer recommends using a Y-cable or extension cable combined with a hard installation that secures the body of the Pioneer device to the vehicle’s under dash structure. Please note, if you choose simply to plug in the device, account setup and activation must still be performed by the authorized Pioneer rDrive dealer where the product was purchased before use.
17. Does the Pioneer device drain the vehicle’s battery?
    The device is powered by the vehicle’s OBD-II port and has a minimal effect on the battery while idle. If the device detects that the vehicle battery is low, it will go into a deep sleep mode to avoid draining the battery.
18. I forgot my password. How do I change my password?
    Within the rDrive app, click on “Forgot Your Password?” and follow the instructions. You must be signed out of the app to use the “Forgot Your Password?” feature. You can also submit an inquiry at www.rdrivebypioneer.com/support.
